Whereas, Ordinance #2283 passed on September 9, 2019, created standards for Temporary and Permanent Entertainment Districts in the City of Eureka Springs,

Whereas, Section 7(a) paragraphs (4) and (5) of Ordinance #2283 contain language pertaining to the use of public resources for the benefit of Temporary and Permanent Entertainment Districts in the City of Eureka Springs and limit Temporary Entertainment Districts to one at a time

Whereas, Public resources should not be used for the benefit or security of Temporary and Permanent Entertainment Districts in the City of Eureka Springs and it may be beneficial to have more than one Temporary Entertainment District at a time,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS:

 

Section 1. Section 7(a) paragraphs (4) and (5) are hereby be revoked.

Section 2. Ordinance 2283 is amended to Entertainment Districts shall maintain private security subject to the approval of the Police Chief.

Section 3. Ordinance 2283 is amended so that more than one Temporary Entertainment District is permissible at the same time.
