Job Title: Grounds Specialist

Salary Range: $18-$25 Per Hour Type: Seasonal/Part Time

SUMMARY
The role of the Grounds Specialist is to ensure all Parks properties are maintained both functionally and aesthetically. The Grounds Specialist works closely with the Lake Leatherwood Park Manager to ensure cabins and campsites are well tended to.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Ground maintenance including mowing, weeding, and pruning.
· Basic maintenance such as carpentry, landscaping, and painting.
· Disposal of garbage and litter as needed.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES OR EDUCATION:
· CPR or First Aid training is preferred.
· Experience with power tools and machinery related to the job.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Eureka Springs Parks & Recreation Director
MINIMUM QULAIFICATIONS:
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
NECESSARY SPEICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, including a drug screen, fingerprint, background check, and reference check.
· Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Knowledge of zero turn mowers and other grounds related equipment preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Ability to speak and understand English as to perform the necessary duties of the job.
· Additional language skills are preferable.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
· Ability to perform intermediate mathematical functions.
· Ability to use a calculator.
REASONING ABILITY
· Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Must be able to exercise sound judgement regarding personal and guest safety.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Must be able to withstand long periods of time outside in variable weather conditions.
· Must be able to lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis.
· Ability to communicate with coworkers and park users in a professional manner.
